Krzysztof Penderecki brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Penderecki began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like "Hands Up!" (1967) with Bogomil Kobiela, the drama "I Love You, I Love You" (1968) with Claude Rich and the Ellen Burstyn box office smash suspenseful adaptation "The Exorcist" (1973). His music also appeared in the horror flick "The Shining" (1980) with Jack Nicholson. In the eighties and the nineties, Penderecki's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Cornelius Castoriadis documentary "L' Heritage de la chouette" (1989) and the Nicolas Cage dramatic adventure "Wild At Heart" (1990). Penderecki was nominated for an Outstanding Individual Achievement In Music Direction Primetime Emmy Award for "The 39th Annual Pablo Casals Festival" in 1995. Penderecki's music was also featured in the drama "Inland Empire" (2006) with Laura Dern, the dramatic adaptation "Children of Men" (2006) with Julianne Moore and the Leonardo DiCaprio blockbuster thrilling adaptation "Shutter Island" (2010). Most recently, Penderecki worked on "Demon" (2015) with Itay Tiran. Krzysztof Penderecki died on March 29, 2020 in Krakow, Poland at the age of 86.
